College in a Nutshell

Oh look! a deadline

Is rapidly approaching.

Oh. That’s tomorrow.

Well shit. I’m behind.

Procrastination my friends

gets me every time.

It can’t be that bad.

Just ten to fifteen  pages.

I should get on that.

Break out the coffee.

There will be no sleep tonight.

I have no soul left.

Not Goodbye

(A poem I wrote when everyone starting to leave for college in August)

Roses are red

Violets are blue.

When you leave,

I don’t know what I’ll do.

We’ve grown so close,

You’re my best friend.

I just don’t want to feel

Like this is the end.

Remember me

when you go away.

Call me up

and say it’s okay.

You mean so much.

You can’t leave now!

I have to let go

But I don’t know how.

When you come back,

We’ll build a snowman!

Or if you prefer,

WE’ll do the can-can.

Okay this is it.

I guess I must try.

It’s time to go,

But this is not goodbye.

I am Standing Still

The clock is ticking.

It’s working against me.

I am standing still

but time is moving on.

Others walk past me,

achieving their life goals.

I am standing still.

I am going nowhere.

The future is near

And I don’t have a plan.

I am standing still.

I am falling behind.

Minutes become days.

And the days become weeks.

I am standing still.

Life is passing me by.
